Method
Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook bucatini until al dente according to package instructions.
- Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
Cook the Steak
- Season steak with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear steak for 2–3 minutes until browned.
- Remove from pan and set aside (do not overcook).
Cook the Shrimp
- In the same pan, add a little oil if needed.
- Cook shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and tender.
- Remove and set aside.
Make the Sauce
- Lower heat to medium.
- Add olive oil and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Stir in Calabrian chili paste and cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in cream and stir gently.
- Add butter and Parmesan cheese.
- Slowly mix in reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
Combine Everything
- Add cooked pasta into the sauce and toss well.
- Return steak and shrimp to the pan.
- Mix until everything is coated evenly.
Serve
- Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Steak becomes tough quickly. Cook it just until browned and finish it later in the sauce if needed.
